About this tool

Janma Kundali (जन्म कुंडली) is the foundational map of Vedic astrology — a precise snapshot of the sky at the exact moment and place of your birth. Every planet, house, and nakshatra encodes a layer of your dharma, karma, and timing.

This report uses Lahiri ayanamsa and Whole Sign houses — the classical Parashara standard. Calculations run on the Swiss Ephemeris engine (the same library used by professional Jyotish software) and are accurate from 1800 CE to 2200 CE.

What's included: D1–D60 divisional charts (Rashi, Hora, Drekkana, Navamsa, Dasamsa and 15 more vargas) · Full planetary grid with sign, house, degree, nakshatra, pada and dignity status · Nakshatra analysis with tattva, guna, shakti and devata · Shadbala & Ashtakavarga house strength · Complete Vimshottari Dasha timeline to all four sub-period levels · Live sky transits with Sade Sati and double-transit detection · Panch Mahapurusha Yogas and dosha analysis.

Janma Kundali Birth Chart

A complete primer on how to read your Vedic birth chart — every concept your report uses, explained from the original classical texts.

1
The Three Foundation Points of Every Chart
Lagna — The Ascendant
The zodiac sign on the eastern horizon at the exact minute of birth. It defines the 1st house and sets the numbering sequence for all 12 houses. The Lagna governs physical appearance, temperament, and the overall direction of life — it is the lens through which every planet in your chart expresses itself.
Chandra — Moon Sign (Janma Rashi)
The sign the Moon occupied at birth. In Jyotish the Moon sign carries more personal weight than the Sun sign — it governs the mind, emotional patterns, instincts, and the relationship with the mother. Critically, the Moon's Nakshatra at birth seeds the entire Vimshottari Dasha sequence and determines which planetary period you begin life in.
Lagnesh — The Ascendant Lord
The planet that rules the Lagna sign. If Aries rises, Mars is Lagnesh. If Cancer rises, the Moon is. The Lagnesh is the single most important planet in the chart. Its house placement, sign dignity, strength, and aspects received shape the overall direction of life more than any other single factor.
2
The 9 Grahas — Nature and Domain
Natural Benefics — Supportive by Nature
Guru · Jupiter
Wisdom, dharma, children, teaching, wealth, and spiritual protection. The most benefic planet overall. A Jupiter aspect on any house is considered protective and fortunate.
Shukra · Venus
Relationships, beauty, luxury, arts, vehicles, and marriage. Governs the quality of material life and romantic partnerships.
Chandra · Moon
Mind, emotions, mother, nourishment, and public life. Moon's strength determines the emotional baseline of the native.
Budha · Mercury
Intelligence, communication, trade, writing, and analytical skill. Neutral — becomes benefic in benefic company, malefic in malefic company.
Natural Malefics — Challenging by Nature
Shani · Saturn
Karma, discipline, delays, service, and longevity. In the 3rd, 6th, or 11th house Saturn produces excellent results. Everywhere else it demands sustained effort before results appear.
Mangal · Mars
Courage, property, siblings, aggression, and surgery. In the 3rd, 6th, or 11th Mars gives exceptional drive. In the 7th or 8th it can create friction in partnerships.
Surya · Sun
Soul, father, authority, and vitality. Functionally malefic because it burns planets that come within orb — combustion weakens a planet's ability to deliver results.
Rahu · North Node
Obsession, ambition, foreign elements, and rapid transformation. Amplifies and distorts whatever house it occupies. Behaves like Saturn.
Ketu · South Node
Past-life karma, spirituality, detachment, and completion. Brings losses and endings that redirect attention toward what truly matters. Behaves like Mars.
3
Planetary Dignity — Why the Sign Changes Everything
The same planet in two different signs performs very differently. Classical Jyotish defines six levels of sign-based dignity.
Uccha · Exaltation
Maximum strength. Sun in Aries, Moon in Taurus, Jupiter in Cancer, Mars in Capricorn, Saturn in Libra, Mercury in Virgo, Venus in Pisces. At the exact exaltation degree, strength peaks completely.
Moolatrikona
Slightly below exaltation, still very strong. Sun Leo 0–20°, Moon Taurus 4–30°, Mars Aries 0–12°, Mercury Virgo 16–20°, Jupiter Sagittarius 0–10°, Venus Libra 0–15°, Saturn Aquarius 0–20°.
Swakshetra · Own Sign
Planet in the sign it rules. Reliable, consistent delivery of significations. Results arrive on schedule.
Mitra Rashi · Friendly Sign
Moderate strength. Functions well but without the full authority of own-sign placement.
Shatru Rashi · Enemy Sign
Weakened and under resistance. Significations achieved with difficulty and effort.
Neecha · Debilitation
Opposite to exaltation. Sun in Libra, Moon in Scorpio, Jupiter in Capricorn, Mars in Cancer, Saturn in Aries, Mercury in Pisces, Venus in Virgo. However, Neecha Bhanga — cancellation of debility — occurs under specific conditions and can produce results stronger than an exalted planet, because the forced overcoming of adversity gives the planet exceptional force.
4
The 12 Bhavas — House Significations
1st · Lagna (Tanu Bhava)
Self, body, appearance, temperament, overall vitality, and the chart's general direction. A kendra and trikona simultaneously — the most powerful house.
2nd · Dhana Bhava
Accumulated wealth, family of origin, speech, food, face, and stored resources.
3rd · Sahaja Bhava
Younger siblings, courage, short journeys, communication, hands, and personal effort. Upachaya — malefics placed here strengthen over time.
4th · Sukha Bhava
Mother, home, property, vehicles, inner happiness, and emotional security.
5th · Putra Bhava
Children, intelligence, past-life merit (Purva Punya), creative output, romance, and speculation. One of the most benefic houses.
6th · Ari Bhava
Enemies, disease, debt, litigation, and service. A dusthana — malefics placed here can paradoxically strengthen by destroying enemies.
7th · Kalatra Bhava
Spouse, business partners, open adversaries, and foreign dealings.
8th · Mrityu Bhava
Longevity, transformation, inheritance, occult, and sudden events. Difficult for ease; deep for spiritual potential.
9th · Dharma Bhava
Father, guru, fortune, higher learning, and ethics. The most naturally auspicious house. Its strong lord is a primary Raja Yoga indicator.
10th · Karma Bhava
Career, public status, authority, and actions in the world. The strongest kendra and primary house for professional analysis.
11th · Labha Bhava
Income, gains, elder siblings, and fulfillment of desires. Even malefics generally perform well here. Upachaya house.
12th · Vyaya Bhava
Losses, expenditure, foreign lands, sleep, and spiritual liberation. Difficult for material life; excellent for moksha-oriented paths.
5
Graha Drishti — Planetary Aspects
Every planet casts its influence (Drishti) on the house directly opposite it — the 7th from its position. This universal aspect is shared by all nine grahas. Three planets carry additional special aspects.
Mangal · Mars
Also aspects the 4th and 8th houses from itself. Activating and sometimes aggressive on these positions.
Guru · Jupiter
Also aspects the 5th and 9th from itself. Jupiter's aspect is the most benefic influence in Jyotish. A Jupiter aspect on the Lagna or Moon is protective and fortune-enhancing regardless of other configurations.
Shani · Saturn
Also aspects the 3rd and 10th from itself. Saturn's aspect brings pressure, discipline, and delay to whatever it touches.
6
Vimshottari Dasha — Your Planetary Timeline
The Vimshottari Dasha (विंशोत्तरी दशा) is a 120-year sequence of planetary periods. The Moon's Nakshatra at birth determines the starting planet. Each period activates the natal potential of its ruling planet — a strong, well-placed Dasha lord gives positive results; a weak or afflicted one brings challenges regardless of the period's length.
The Sequence and Durations
Ketu · 7 years
Past karma, detachment, and spiritual reorientation. Disorienting but clarifying.
Shukra · Venus · 20 years
The longest period. Relationships, material comforts, and arts. Most productive when Venus is strong and well placed.
Surya · Sun · 6 years
Identity, authority, career focus, and clarity of purpose.
Chandra · Moon · 10 years
Mind, emotions, family. Quality entirely depends on Moon's natal sign dignity and aspects.
Mangal · Mars · 7 years
Drive, property, conflict. Decisive action or disputes depending on Mars's placement.
Rahu · 18 years
Ambition, rapid transformation, and boundary-crossing. Often the most turbulent and growth-producing phase.
Guru · Jupiter · 16 years
Expansion, wisdom, opportunity, and grace. Generally the most benefic Dasha when Jupiter is well placed.
Shani · Saturn · 19 years
The most karmic period. Rewards sustained effort; brings structured reckoning where karma is due.
Budha · Mercury · 17 years
Commerce, communication, skill, and intellectual activity.

Key Yogas and Doshas
Auspicious Yogas — Combinations That Elevate the Life
Kendra-Trikona Raja Yoga
Lord of a kendra (1, 4, 7, 10) and lord of a trikona (1, 5, 9) conjunct or in mutual aspect. The foundational Raja Yoga of Parashari Jyotish — produces authority, status, and recognition.
Pancha Mahapurusha Yoga
Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, or Saturn in its exaltation or own sign in a kendra. Five types: Ruchaka (Mars), Bhadra (Mercury), Hamsa (Jupiter), Malavya (Venus), Shasha (Saturn). Each produces exceptional results in that planet's domain.
Gajakesari Yoga
Jupiter and Moon in mutual kendra positions. Good fortune, wisdom, and lasting reputation when both planets are strong.
Dhana Yoga
Lords of the 2nd and 11th houses connected. A direct wealth indicator — multiple Dhana Yogas together indicate significant accumulation.
Key Doshas — Combinations That Create Challenge
Mangal Dosha
Mars in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house. Creates friction and intensity in marriage and close partnerships. Traditionally matched — two Manglik partners balance each other. Diminishes significantly after age 28.
Kaal Sarp Dosha
All seven classical planets between Rahu and Ketu. Intense karmic experiences and delays — but also exceptional spiritual potential and the capacity for extraordinary achievement once the pattern is worked through.
Pitra Dosha
Sun or Rahu in the 9th house, or Sun conjunct Rahu. Unresolved ancestral karma creating friction with the paternal lineage and delays in finding clear direction.
